Vocal Training at RPM Vocal Studios
If you are looking to fully develop your singing voice and your stage performance to it's maximum potential, nothing works better than private voice lessons.
LESSON POLICY FOR NON-SKYPE STUDENTSThank you for your interest in voice/performance instruction with Kevin Richards. In order to obtain the best possible results in your vocal lessons, the following lesson policy agreement contract is considered read, understood and agree upon by paying for lessons with Mr. Richards. This agreement will assist you with the quickest possible growth and development and insure that the student-teacher relationship is understood properly.
Once a student commits themselves to taking vocal lessons with Mr. Richards, you are entering into a legal BUSINESS relationship. You are expected and obligated to follow a certain number of common sense protocols and guidelines, and follow a few rules regarding how to organize and implement your lesson schedule.
Mr. Richards teaches voice and performance skills for a living; not for “fun” or for a “hobby”, and so must earn his living and pay his bills with only the money he receives from his students. With this in mind, Mr. Richards has to reliably count on and depend on those monies, just as you count on and depend upon your personal paycheck.
The following terms and conditions apply to all private instruction with Mr. Richards. This is a LEGALLY BINDING contractual agreement. Please read it carefully before agreeing to commit to lessons. This contract automatically renews every month.
Price and Payment:
- Lesson rates are for a one-on-one private 55min vocal lesson.
- Lessons will not be given to students that owe for a previous singing lesson until payment is received.
- Payment is required upon lesson enrollment.
- Lessons are only given on a once-weekly basis. Bi-weekly lessons are allowed with prior approval.
Payment Schedule:All singing lessons are to be pre-paid in full, on a monthly or weekly basis through a recurring billing cycle through Paypal.
NOTE: These payments are NON REFUNDABLE, and there are no refunds for any reason, stated or implied. These payments guarantee the student's time slot with Mr. Richards, until the student decides to stop taking lessons.
Punctuality & Attendance:It is very important for students to arrive on time for their scheduled lessons. Lessons are scheduled back to back; therefore, Mr. Richards is unable to run into the next student’s lesson time. Consistent attendance is vital to success. With this in mind, please attend all scheduled voice lessons. Excessive lateness will result in a forfeit of any remaining tuition and the student will be dismissed from lesson instruction. Consistent attendence is essential for musical growth. Mr. Richards wishes to continue to offer quality vocal instruction and maintain a consistant, predictable wage, therefore Mr. Richards must offer a limited cancellation policy for students.
Attendance and Cancellations:
- Lessons cancelled on the same day forfeits the lesson fee.
- 48 hour cancellation required to avoid forfeit. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- If you do not show up for any reason, you automatically forfeit that lesson's fee.
- With a 48 hour cancellation, a make-up lesson will be given as a courtesy. The make-up lesson must be made up within 1 week or the lesson fee is forfeit.
- If you need to reschedule a lesson, but not cancel it for any particular week, we must have 48 hours notice.
- Rescheduled lessons are issued based on Mr. Richards availability. Cancelled make-ups cannot be resheduled.
If you are unable or cannot reschedule a singing lesson due to your own schedule limitations or conflicts within one (1) weeks, you forfeit the lesson time & fee. If you can’t show up, miss the lesson, or cancel the rescheduled lesson, your lesson payment is still due on time for the following lesson. Mr. Richards doesn’t “extend” or "roll over" any payments due to missed or cancelled lessons.
Commitment to Lessons:If you are unable to commit to weekly vocal lessons because of an inconsistent work or school schedule, Mr. Richards unfortunately cannot accomodate your request for lessons.
Simply put, Mr. Richards cannot guarantee you a time slot if you cannot guarantee consistant attendance. Mr. Richards cannot hold time slots for students that 'may or may not' be able to make their lesson. Mr. Richards needs to have students who can commit to a weekly lesson schedule. This ensures Mr. Richards a consistent lesson calendar and full knowledge of available lesson times for new students.
Quitting Lessons/Leaves of Absence:As a courtesy, Mr. Richards requires one weeks (7 CALENDAR DAYS) if you wish to terminate your lessons or require a leave of absence. You will be considered an active student until we are notified of a change. Once you sign up for lessons you are entering into a legally binding BUSINESS relationship with the instructor, and are expected and obligated to follow a common-sense, courteous and responsible course of action. It is not acceptable to quit lessons by just not showing up - you will be charged for the entire month. Students who abandon the lessons on a pay week will automatically be charged for the lesson in full. In addition you may be responsible for all collection costs, including all costs of mailing notices, court costs, attorney fees and legal expenses.
Absensces/No Show:Two consecutive absences will result in removal from the schedule with no refunds, makeups or credit. Please note that it is up to the student to communicate directly with Mr. Richards well enough in advance to plan any absences or rescheduled lessons.
Holidays/Inclement Weather:Private lessons will NOT be held on the following days (subject to change):
December 31st-January 1st, Memorial Day, June 14, July 3-4, July 19th, Labor Day, October 8, Thanksgiving Day, December 24-25th.
It is the responsibility of the student to be aware of these dates of lesson closure.
In the case of inclement weather, please contact Mr. Richards via text (646-338-1644) to verify lesson .
